Week 19: From My Vault: 3 Movies Watched

Continuing my weekly series where I go through my impressively large collection (1,054 titles) of DVDs and Blu-Rays. I have been neglecting older movies for new ones, so I’m going through and re-watching everything from my vault. I have the films divided into categories: General, Series, Classics, Kids, Shakespeare, and Documentary. I’m starting with General.

Out of alphabetical order this week and please note the comment at the end of the post.

P.S. I Love You (2007)

Format: DVD Special Features: Behind the scenes and deleted scenes
Last Time Watched: About ten years ago
Originally Viewed: Rental
Comments After Re-Watching: Gerard Butler‘s career fascinates me. He can go back and forth between action hero and rom-com lead effortlessly with no fallout. While I enjoy the movie, it has never been a favorite. However, I enjoyed it more this time around.
Why You Should You Watch This: This deals with grief and struggling to move on after a loved one has died while still managing to keep the comedy.

Serendipity (2001)

Format: DVD  Special Features: Behind the scenes, commentary, and deleted scenes
Last Time Watched: About five years ago
Originally Viewed: Rental
Comments After Re-Watching: What happened to John Cusack‘s career?
Why You Should You Watch This: This is a classic romantic-comedy about fate, destiny, and serendipity.

Molly’s Game (2017)

Format: Bluray  Special Features: Documentary
Last Time Watched: When it came out
Originally Viewed: Theater
Comments After Re-Watching: I recently read the book this movie was based on and wanted to re-watch the film. It has some significant deviances from the book, but those are changed to include Aaron Sorkin monologues, so I’m good with that.
Why You Should You Watch This: Jessica Chastain is brilliant, the plot moves, and you catch a glimpse of high stakes poker without losing any money.

Another week’s selection with more randomness of the types of movies I own.

NOTE: Fall is here and that means changes is coming. We’re reaching the end of the fiscal year so my day job is changing things up. I’ve joined a new gym which will take time away from my computer. All my regular television shows are back. I’m also writing for a new website. Therefore, my ability to re-watch movies in my collection will be limited. I will keep up with the series, but it won’t be every week like it has been when it began five months ago.

Have you seen any of these movies? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section!
