Continuing my weekly series where I go through my impressively large collection (1,054 titles) of DVDs and Blu-Rays. I have been neglecting older movies for new ones, so I’m going through and re-watching everything from my vault. I have the films divided into categories: General, Series, Classics, Kids, Shakespeare, and Documentary. I’m starting with General.
The Brothers Grimm (2005)
Format: DVD Special Features: Behind the scenes, commentary, and interviews
Last Time Watched: Over ten years ago
Originally Viewed: Theater
Comments After Re-Watching: The special effects don’t hold up. This was the first movie I saw Lena Headey in. Although, I didn’t learn her name until the next year when she was in 300.
Why You Should You Watch This: A great cast tells a different version of the events of how the brothers Grimm collected all their fairytales.
Bull Durham (1988)
Format: DVD Special Features: Behind the scenes, commentary, and interviews
Last Time Watched: Over ten years ago

Comments After Re-Watching: This movie holds up well, and everyone in it looks so young. You may notice that on the “About the Author” tab of my blog, the quote is a variation on the speech Kevin Costner makes in this movie.
Why You Should You Watch This: Whether you are a baseball fan or not, this is full romantic-comedy is a fun watch.
Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Format: Blu-ray Special Features: Behind the scenes, commentary, and interviews
Last Time Watched: Within the last year
Originally Viewed: Theater (3 times)
Comments After Re-Watching: Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon are just the best.
Why You Should You Watch This: This is a horror film like Scream is a horror film. While they have the same elements, it pays homage to those movies rather than being one and adding a comedic twist.
Another week’s selection with more randomness of the types of movies I own. Come back next week to see what I watched next.
